Day 6 – 10 Things You Can’t Live Without in Lolita.

Here we go!

1.) Petticoat. Its just not lolita without a petticoat for me Im afraid! I always wear petticoats, even with more casual outfits. (must...review...new...petticoat)

2.) The internet for inspiration. Seeing beautiful coords online makes me want to push my own looks that bit further.

3.) My vast collection of socks and tights! I like to add interest to outfits using patterened tights under over the knees, or ankle socks. I dont tend to wear under the knees.. they make my legs look strange!

4.) Make up know how. I really think that it completes an outfit when a lolita has beautiful skin and eye makeup. Unfortunately my skin can be temperamental so I have very good concealer/ foundation/ powder on hand just in case. Even a natural look takes a little emphasising in my opinion, but I generally prefer something a little more.

5.) A hairdresser for a sister! I love getting my hair redyed and changing my style. My sister always helps me to reinvent my hairstyle! Ive also learnt how to style my extensions nicely over time too.

6.) Blouses and cardigans. I already had such a huge number of cardigans that creating casual coords is very easy.

7.) A ridiculous amount of jewellery to go with every outfit!

8.) Shoes. Sometimes in more casual outfits I add things like Doc Martens or my New Rocks but on the whole I think lolita outfits just dont look the same without actual lolita shoes, I dont think ordinary ballet pumps cut it.

9.) Layering. I think it adds so much interest to an outfit!

10.) Support from my friends and family. I think this is something that helps me the most.

Day 5 – 10 Items From Your Wishlist.

Hello sweeties!
I didnt do the challenge yesterday because it was such a lovely day here that I went to my boyfriends and we had a chill day ^^ so heres day 5! Ive probably missed lots of items Id love to have but here are the ones I thought of as i was writing :)
In no particular order!

1.) Lotta by Innocent World
Although Angelic Pretty is my favourite brand, Im really not all that fond of their deer design in prints, I like it in jewellery but I just dont like it on their clothing pieces, this is the perfect use of animals in a print for me!

2.) Milky Planet JSK by Angelic Pretty
One of the first prints I truly fell in love with, it still brings a tear to my eye that it isnt mine whenever I see people in it! I love all of the colour ways, but if I were to actually buy it this would be the colour Id choose.

3.) Dreamy Dollhouse Salopette by Angelic Pretty
I guess its not strictly lolita.. but god I just adore salopettes. I wish I could own one!

4.) Holy Night Story switching JSK by Angelic Pretty
I can just imagine running about on christmas day in this. I think its so beautiful!

5.) Ribbon Princess Drop by Baby the Stars Shine Bright
I absolutely adore this. I think its so beautiful, Its something I would keep forever even if I grewAlign Left out of lolita.

6.) Jewellery Jelly by Angelic Pretty
The main reason I love this is for the whole look, I love the socks and especially the jewellery! Ive seen so many beautiful coords using this print.

7.) Merry Making Party by Angelic Pretty
I adore this print and I think the colours in the print are really beautiful. I dont know whether Id get the JSK or the OP I usually go for JSK's but I think I prefer the OP in this case. Im not sure whether Id want it in the blue or cream either..

8.) Twinkle Dreaming Princess by Angelic Pretty
Such a pretty print, I think its beautifully delicate ! Id definitely get the JSK II version. The hat really sells it too me too ^^

9.) Divine Cross by Moi Meme Moitie
Im starting to take more of an interest in gothic lolita fashion, and this would be top of my list if I had disposable income! So lovely.
10.) Aqua Princess by Angelic Pretty
I also love the pinkxpink colour way, I love the style of this dress and the little details, so lovely!
I hope you enjoyed my wishlist!

Milky Planet Replica Review!

My lovely boyfriend brought me the Dream of Lolita Milky Planet replica for our 6 month anniversary with a matching bag and headbow ^^ This is my first review so I hope you enjoy it! Its very picture heavy -.-'
Here is the jsk, with no waist ties or detachable bow.
The detail on the bodice, the lace is nice and ironable!
The lace on the straps
Back shirring and the little star button by my thumb is for the detachable waist ties.
The prints missing a little of the house roof but any print flaws arent hugely obvious
The detachable bow and headbow:
The stitching on these for the centre part of the bows isnt attractive, but you cant see it and I have no worries in terms of it loosening.
The headbow worn
The bag
...aaaaaand some detail shots and outfit shots!
without a petticoat and just the light inbuilt petti
and thats it! I hope you enjoyed my review, feel free to ask any questions!

Day 4 – 10 Different Kinds of Food You Like.

Im not sure how this is lolita exactly! But here goes ^^

1.) Its got to be... sweeties. I love sweets, and I probably eat too many! Particuarly when Im with my boyfriend we eat so much junk ^^ I went on a loli meet where there was a really old fashionned sweet shop which we pretty much filled! Heres me outside (it feels weird having picture-less posts >.>)
2.) Spaghetti bolognese (with veggie mince!) I love it so much! But obviously not whilst wearing lolita hehe.

3.) Anything breakfast related - croissants, pain au chocolat, toast, fried breakfasts, cereal, pancakes... Im hungry!

4.) Crisps. I could not live without crisps, particularly kettle chips, the barbeque flavour is so, so good!

5.) Mashed potato. Is that weird? Idk -.-

6.) Pizza! I could probably eat just Italian for the rest of my life and still be happy.

7.) Noodles. Particularly in ramen

8.) Fresh bread, even the smell of it makes my mouth water!

9.) Chocolatey things. I cant believe this is so late in my list!!

10.) Toasties ^^ I ate so many when I was at download festival, best vegetarian thing there ^^

Ill be posting later about my new dress ^^ Its the milky planet replica JSK II!

40 followers! & Day 3 – 10 Things You Hate in Lolita.

Thank you all so much for following me - I never really thought anyone would read my blog! I love reading your comments and hope you all enjoy my blog.
On to the challenge!
Day 3 - 10 Things I Hate in Lolita.

1.) This is pretty standard but.. the amount of bitchiness in the community. Every community has its problems, but there really are some serious attitudes flying around.

2.) Hypocrisy. Each to their own, but Im happy wearing my replicas, because I cant afford brand. I hate it when people stand in their montreal rocking horse shoes or secret shop tea parties bitching about replicas. Is it different when its shoes?! maybe im missing something :/

3.) How weather can make me a bit lazy to wear lolita. Im afraid I cant wear a lolita outfit without some form of socks (even just ankle socks), or a blouse, or a petticoat, so I tend to wear it less in the summer.

4.) Certain prints. I adore Angelic Pretty, but some things are a shade too far for me.. like lambs. Or excessive bunnies. Ugh I cant stand them! Though I guess thats odd because I love deer prints.

5.) Shipping services (or requirement of them!) I have such a love/hate relationship with availability of lolita. I think itd lose a bit of its charm if everyone was wearing it, but shipping prices make my eyes water!

6.) People who consider not wearing blouses/ miniskirts/ no petticoat (or silhouette of any type) lolita. I think lolita should be able to be taken in our own creative directions, but there are certain things I find essential to the anatomy of a lolita outfit.

7.) The "lolita" that is sold in Camden market. The majority of items sold in those shops are so very tacky -.- I always get excited at the thought of being able to try things on, and then Im always sorely disappointed!

8.) People who try and rip the hell out of you for second hand items. Unless an item is ridiculously rare, I dont see how its fair to charge such an amount for a worn item.

9.) Shopping compulsions. I have no money but I still end up buying things somewhat continually D:

10.) Days where I feel down about myself with worry about how people will react. Most of the time I can put my headphones on, put on a face that suggests I dont care and get on with it. But ocassionally, I get so paranoid.

This post felt like a giant rant! Ill be back to normal happy levels tomorrow ^^
and now off to work. :(

Recent Drawings

Ill make a post on the lovely presents my boyfriend got me for our anniversary soon, but I took these pictures from the book and mixed them a bit, different aspects from different artists ^^ the main drawings are from Yoh though (mentioned in my day 1 of the lolita challenge).
So here they are! I hope you like them ^^

Day 2 – 10 Things You Love in Lolita.

Hello lovelies! Hope you are all having a nice day so far, Ive just been to get my hair done :D I love dying my hair but i hate when it starts to grow out!
So here we go, day 2!

1.) Shoes. Oh my god, its always shoes that get me when Im trying to save money!! This is also a pain because being fairly tall (5'8) I have large feet to go with it >:/ ...but a preorder for large sized tea parties has started so finally Ill be able to get a pair or two of those! Im also dying for a pair of boots for next winter.

2.) The silhouette! Yes Im one of those if it hasnt got a petticoat it isnt lolita people. The silhouettes a big thing to me, especially as you can find petticoats for cheap (must post petticoat review soon!!)

3.) Community. I love how exciting it is when you find another lolita or a community specific to your area. Sometimes it takes a while to find loli friends but I love the buzz when you do find someone with shared interests ^^

4.) The variety of inspiration sources. Theres so many places online to view pictures and blogs to give inspiration and I really love that if I ever had a slump Id be able to pick up again by trying something new.

5.) The way it makes me feel. oh so, so cliche I know... but i really do feel like a princess when i wear lolita!

6.) Challenges, especially in terms of coords, I really like that I have to work to accessorise and change one item to make it look several different ways, so much more gratifying then this t shirt and those jeans (though Ive never been a jeans girl. Ive only got one pair and Ive worn them twice all year.)

7.) Season specific prints! I actually got more excited for easter this year because I had a cute outfit planned out for it! I cant afford Halloween and Christmas specific prints, but I love that lolita can have seasonal specific touches added to an outfit.

8.) The amount of books, films and so on that feel more appropriate when in lolita. It feels somehow more correct to be reading classic books when dressed in lolita!

9.) The continual releases from brands. I follow several blogs which give weekly updates on brand releases (keeping me intouch with the lolita world ^^) and I love the unpredictability of releases! Of course some releases may be expected, but Im often caught off guard by what brands think of next ^^

10.) The room for creative flair. Within lolita Ive felt able to continue my art, and Ive begun trying more embroidery, continued baking and started to attempt to learn to sew. I love that you can really make lolita something personal.

Thankyou for reading princesses!

Day 30 – A photo of yourself taken today and 3 good things that’s happened over the last 30 days.

So here we go! Day 1: 10 Things about your Lolita bubble.
This confuses me a little because im not sure what a lolita bubble is exactly.. but from other peoples lists Im guessing its personal things you feel within lolita. I hope thats right!

1.) How proud I feel when Im in Lolita. Most subcultures are very quick to deny that they belong to a fashion group but ask a Lolita what subculture she belongs to and 9 times out of 10 she will tell you!

2.) Explaining to people who are genuinely interested. As long as people arent rude, I really dont mind being asked about lolita. It annoys me a fair bit when lolitas get so defensive to the point of rudeness when people ask about their clothing - some people are genuinely curious!

3.) Support from my friends and family. Half of my friends want me to dress them up, and Ill never forget the day my sisters boyfriend came round when I was painstakingly ironing half of my collection, and he compared it to having a nice car - you wouldnt buy a super special expensive car and not wash it, so why wear lolita creased!

4.) Progression. I brought my first lolita dress when I was 15 in Camden market. Of course I wouldnt be seen dead in it now, its a bit of a lace monster and at that point I didnt have the means to buy a blouse, petticoat or any other necessities to make it a proper outfit, but I absolutely treasured it at the time, and I like being able to see how Ive progressed into better coords, and being able to wonder what I will put together next.

5.) Being able to take inspiration from many different types of lolita. Although sweet has my heart, I love classic, and part of me will always long to be as elegant as some gothic lolitas, but I like that theres always a possibility to take inspiration from different places.

6.) Lolita activities. I know its cliche.. but I love going to tea rooms and for walks in beautiful places, and baking. Its like having things I loved anyway encompassed into a fashion!

7.) Lolita art. Ive always loved art and even considered it for my degree for quite some time, and lolita really fuels that for me. The first lolita artist i really noticed was Kira Imai with her beautiful pieces for Angelic Pretty, and then for our anniversary my boyfriend brought me an incredible book about lolita artists (Ill be posting about this soon) and another artist really captured my heart.
Isnt it so beautiful! Im planning on copying some parts to learn the style and then create some of my own designs this summer. you can see more of Yoh here:
http://www.yoh-gallery.net/main.html

8.) That special feeling when I open my wardrobe and see a significant portion of it is lolita. Im funding myself through university, and I find it very hard to hold down a job in term time because I have too much reading to do so though it takes me a while and I own no brand, I still get super happy to see lots of frills and beautiful colours dominating my wardrobe.

9.) The fact that Lolita has been the only thing thats ever been able to move me away from my safety colour - black!

10.) The way Lolita has made me appreciate my boyfriend who always supports me even if its just by holding my hand in a busy place, it makes me feel a lot less alienated. Boyfriends of Lolitas are the best boyfriends in the world.

I hope I did that right! I had to try really hard not to overlap with tomorrows 10 Things I Love in Lolita ! I hope I didnt go on too much, thanks for reading princesses!

:DDD

I rarely go on Lolita Secrets but I went on today and it made me so miserable that i ended up browsing Lolita Valentines to counteract the nastiness that so many people post there!
I was super shocked and so happy when I found this!
Thankyou so much whoever made this. I often spend my time feeling like I dont measure up to a lot of other lolis and this made me so smiley <3

Im Back!

Hello lovely ladies!
I will tell you all about my amazing time at Download Festival shortly (of course with a zillion pictures) But firstly Im going to show you some new pictures from yesterday! My best friend Emma came round and I got her all dressed up. Shes never worn Lolita before but has been interested in it for a while so I thought Id help her give it a go ^^
Im also wearing my new Fantastic Dolly replica and new petticoat in the pictures! Ill be blogging more frequently now so there will be a review on each posted soon!
We did some super cliche pictures just for a laugh so heres my umbrella-blown-away shot :p

Then it started to rain so the rest are inside ):
Check out my tea cup <3

Here is my accessory shot
I just love this carousel! I brought it from the lovely Emilia at http://carousel-dreams.blogspot.com/
Here is a cute picture I took of it today, as well as the marshmallow bracelet I brought from her
I had an amazing time at the festival! I saw so many amazing bands, though System of a Down, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Linkin Park and Rob Zombie were my absolute favourites. We stayed from the wednesday till the monday so we were knackered by the time we got back! Here are some pictures ^^
Judging by the fact my hair is still in fairly good condition I think this was day 2! I love this hat and am planning a photoshoot with it soon!
Me and Lucy getting our hula hoop on
We spent a lot of time at this shisha tent drinking tea and eating toasties!
Zombie day! Sadly I didnt get many group shots:/
